The diagnosis of osteoporosis should be based not only on BMD, but also on the facts of osteoporotic fractures. Therefore, despite the fracture history, the International Osteoporosis Foundation IOF suggested using vertebral fracture assessment VFA equipment to improve the identification of unrecognized vertebral fractures [ 9 , 10 ].
