Good appetite and psychological status are positively impacted by engaging in social activities among older people. Findings suggest that community programs, such as Meal on Wheels programs, and shared group activities can improve appetite and social interaction among older people.

The process of acquiring and maintaining the functional capacity that promotes well-being in old age is known as healthy aging according to the World Health Organization WHO. Building and maintaining relationships and contributing to society, which entail taking part in both personal- and societal-level activities, are important functional ability aspects.
